Deep Cleaning in Fall River, MA
A deep clean is the reset a regular clean can't reach: the inside of the oven, the grout, the tops of the door frames, the buildup behind the furniture. Otsem Cleaning Services does deep cleans across Fall River and the South Coast, usually once or twice a year.

What a deep clean adds that a regular clean does not
A regular cleaning maintains a house that is already in reasonable condition. It covers floors, surfaces, bathrooms and kitchens, and it's priced to happen every two weeks. A deep clean is the job you do when the house is past the point where maintenance alone catches up: when the grout has gone grey, the oven window is opaque, and the baseboards have a line of dust you can see from across the room.
Practically, the difference is time and reach. A deep clean takes two to three times as long as a regular clean of the same house, because the work is in the places a maintenance visit doesn't touch: inside appliances, behind furniture that has to be moved, up on the trim and down in the grout. It's a different job, not a longer version of the same one.
Most of our deep cleaning is seasonal — spring and fall — or tied to an event. It's also the right starting point for a house that has never had a professional clean, because a maintenance schedule on top of years of buildup just spreads the dirt around. We usually recommend one deep clean followed by a regular schedule, which keeps the deep clean from being necessary again for a year.
When a deep clean is the right call
The clearest signal is that the time it takes you to make the house feel clean keeps growing. If you're spending a whole Saturday and it still doesn't look clean, the maintenance has fallen behind the buildup, and a deep clean resets it.
Other triggers we see regularly: moving into a new house before the furniture arrives, preparing a home for sale or for a family event, coming back to a seasonal property after months closed up, after a long illness, after pets, and after any renovation work that left fine dust through the house.
If the house has been closed up for a season, add a mold check on the bathroom and any below-grade space. On the South Coast, humidity does damage in an empty house faster than people expect, and a deep clean should surface the problem rather than paint over it.
Deep clean versus move-in / move-out
The two overlap heavily but are not identical. A move-in or move-out clean assumes an empty house: every cabinet and drawer gets wiped inside, closets are cleaned, and the job is measured by whether the next person can put their things away without cleaning first.
A deep clean assumes the house is furnished and lived in, so the work concentrates on buildup around and behind things rather than on opening every empty cabinet. If you're moving, tell us which one you need — an empty-house clean is quoted differently because there's no furniture to work around and every drawer is accessible.
For rentals turning over between tenants, a move-out clean is usually what the lease requires, and we can work from your landlord's checklist so the handover doesn't come back as a deduction.
What it costs and how long it takes
Deep cleans are quoted after we know the size of the house, the number of bathrooms and how long it has been since the last deep clean. A house that was deep cleaned last year costs less than one that hasn't been touched in five.
As a rough guide, a three-bedroom, two-bath house with a standard amount of buildup takes one cleaner most of a day or two cleaners about half a day. Houses with pets, heavy buildup, or a lot of glass and tile take longer. We'll tell you honestly which end of the range you're on when you send us photos or a description by text.

| Move-out clean, empty house | $300 – $520 |
Regional South Coast bands for 2026. Deep cleans are quoted after we know the size, the bathroom count and how long since the last deep clean, because buildup is the biggest variable.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I get a deep clean?
Once or twice a year for most homes, usually in spring and fall. Houses with pets, smokers, allergies or a lot of foot traffic from the yard benefit from every four months. Between deep cleans, a regular two-week schedule keeps the house from needing another one sooner.
Do you clean inside the oven and refrigerator?
Yes, both are included in a deep clean. That's one of the main things that separates it from a regular clean. Tell us if either has heavy burnt-on buildup so we can plan the time.
Do you move furniture?
We move what can reasonably be moved — chairs, small tables, the couch, beds if they're light enough to shift safely. We don't move large appliances, pianos or furniture that could damage the floor. If there's something specific you want moved, tell us when you book.
Can you do a deep clean if I have pets?
Yes, and we'd rather know in advance. Pet hair in vents, on baseboards and under furniture is a large part of the work in a pet household, and it takes longer. It's also worth telling us about any animal that shouldn't be let out while we're there.
Is a deep clean the same as a move-out clean?
Not quite. A move-out clean assumes an empty house and includes the inside of every cabinet and closet. A deep clean assumes a furnished, lived-in home. Tell us which you need when you request the quote.
How long does a deep clean take?
A three-bedroom, two-bath house with standard buildup is roughly a full day for one cleaner or half a day for two. Heavy buildup, pets or extensive tile work take longer. We'll give you a realistic estimate once we know the house.
